On 21 July 2022, Slater and Gordon Lawyers and Redfern Legal Centre issued a class action proceeding for people who have been unlawfully searched by NSW Police at all music festivals in NSW between 22 July 2016 and 21 July 2022. On 30 September 2025, the judgment in this proceeding was handed down by the Honourable Justice Dina Yehia at the Supreme Court of New South Wales. The judgment was a significant success for the plaintiff and group members.
