Dr Roger Wyndham

I am a consultant physician in private practice in Sydney. I have recognised the futility of the War on drugs for many years and have been writing to politicians and media commentators to promote the safe supply and quality control of recreational drugs. If this could be achieved, it would inevitably reduce crime and gain valuable income through taxation, money that could then be spent on education and drug rehabilitation.

We need a hell of a lot more doctors like Dr Rodger Wyndham. Why are a lot of doctors judgemental. ? They don’t want the self stigma of being a private prescriber. I have moved to regional qld
To seek help from a clinic, l have to do a 500 km round trip twice in two weeks. The course would earn these doctors 5 points But they don’t care and we don’t matter. As there a lot of Indian and Sri Lankan doctors now, especially in regional areas these doctors most definitely don’t like to help. STIGMA. Let’s get rid of stigma. Like that’s going to happen in a hurry. Sad
    Very sad.

I agree with Roger and hope more can be done to solve this horrific situation we have in society.
Education at the primary level is essential and hope governments come on board with this.
